Aunt Anna’s Italian Meatloaf (Variation)

(Anna Schiavo Tyng) My Great Aunt Anna (My Great Uncle William Tyng’s Wife)




Ingredients


  • 1 lb Ground Beef

  • 2-3 tbsp All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 Egg (Beaten)

  • 1/3 cup Milk (2% or Whole)

  • 2 cups/8 oz Parmesan Cheese (Grated)

  • ¼ cup Yellow Onion (Finely Chopped)

  • 1-2 Dashes Worcestershire Sauce

  • To Taste Salt

  • To Taste Pepper


 

Instructions


  • Preheat the oven to 350° and put the oven rack in the center.

  • Put the ground beef into a large mixing bowl.

  • Add the flour, egg, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and milk. Slowly and carefully mix it all together with a large mixing spoon being careful not to splash the milk out of the bowl.

  • When you have evenly incorporated all the ingredients, add the Parmesan cheese and onion and mix it all together until the ingredients have been evenly distributed.

  • Put the mixture into an ungreased loaf pan and bake for 30-60 min. or until the meat has browned all of the way through.

  • Remove the pan from the oven and pour the drippings into a sauce pan and use to make gravy.

  • Serve with green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy.

  • Note: Cream of mushroom soup mixed with the drippings along with a little salt, pepper, and milk makes a quick gravy.

  • Note: Eat this when you think you have a cold coming on and get a good night sleep.
